How Animal Healing Reiki Can Help Your Pets

If you're like most pet owners, you love your furry friend with all of your heart you'll want to do everything possible to make sure they are happy and healthy. One way to help improve your pet's health is through animal healing Reiki. Reiki is a form of energy healing that can help promote balance and wellness in pets. In this blog post, I'll discuss the benefits of Reiki for pets and how you can get started with animal healing Reiki!

Animal Reiki in Devon

Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing that was rediscovered in the early 1900s by a Japanese Buddhist monk named Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is based on the principle that there is an unseen life force energy that flows through all living things. When this life force energy is low, we are more susceptible to illness and disease. Reiki works to balance and restore the flow of this life force energy, which can help promote healing on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

There are many benefits of Reiki for pets, including:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Increased relaxation

  • Pain relief

  • Improved sleep quality

  • Boosted immune system

  • Improved overall health and well-being

  • Emotional support

  • Trauma release

Reiki is a safe and gentle healing modality that can be used on animals of all ages, from kittens to senior pets. It's important to note that Reiki is not a substitute for veterinary care. If your pet is ill or injured, please consult with your veterinarian before starting Reiki. Neither is it a substitute for employing a qualified behaviourist, though treatments may help support these needs and I can give recommendations if required.

One of the biggest benefits to animal healing in my opinion is how it can strengthen a relationship between a carer and their pet, a deeper understanding often comes from it.

If you're interested in giving Reiki to your pet, here are a few tips:

  • Start by doing a short Reiki session (around five minutes) and gradually increase the time as your pet becomes more comfortable with it. Some pets may not connect in with it initially and short sessions can help introduce them to the energy slowly.

  • If your pet is happy place your hands gently on your pet's body, or hover them just above.

  • Make sure you are in a calm and relaxed state before beginning Reiki. This will help to ensure that your pet is comfortable and relaxed as well.

I offer Reiki appointments for animals at their homes in and around Devon, I can also help guide pet carers on how to offer healing to the animals they share their lives with themselves. If you'd like to know more do get in touch!
